Meet the "Zubels" soooo cute! Zubels are 100% cotton and handknit in Peru using fair trade practices. They are also smart. "Sweet Tooth Al" (the alligator) loves to brush his teeth! Way to go Al! The rest of the Zubel family should be here shortly and they are all equally adorable!

We also have "Dragon Toes" Hats with histories... Handmade locally by dragontoes mama. These hats are so special because they each have a story of how they came to be.

It's about time!

My prayers have been answered!!! There is finally a reality show about a floral designer. It's just an added perk that he is drop dead sexy!

I have never been more thankful for DVR because Wednesday nights also happen to be Modern Family which is hilarious on ABC and Top chef on Bravo! What's a girl to do?!? DVR

Deck the Halls

We have some really great new products in for the holidays. These Aunt Sadies candles smell absolutely amazing! The "Famous Pine" is by far the best pine scented candle available. They also burn clean and last forever!

Ahhh...the holidays! I'll tell you I wasn't all that in the mood for Christmas decorating but once I cued up Pandora with Swingin' Christmas I was a goner- singing, dancing, humming and amazingly enjoying myself while decorating trees on October 23rd. I may actaully decorate at home this Sunday-maybe-we'll see.

Homecoming Corsages!

Here are some corsages that we have done thus far for area homecomings. The above one features yellow spray roses, white dendrobium orchids and crystal accents.

I loved this one- it felt very Moulin Rouge...red ranunculus and sparkle pop off this black and sequined number!

Mango Callas and Lavender

This was a sweet bouquet for a simple wedding this past week-end. The Bride wore brown and carried mango callas accented with lavender from their garden.

An Asian themed event with yellow callas and grasses swirled around the bowl with floating candles.

Romantical Bouquets

I couldn't resist using my beloved Paula Deen's phrase "Romantical."
The Bride choose black bacarra roses along with soft pink ones, accented with stephanotis. The result was very pretty and romantic.

FYI: I met Paula Deen in my previous life as a gourmet foods buyer and let me just tell you she is EVERYTHING and MORE! I don't have celebrity crushes but when she signed my book, held my hand and commented on my necklace- I died and went to Heaven. Then made a huge fool of myself by crying... oh yeah I cried. Thankfully only my good friend Laura witnessed this moment. Micheal (Paula's husband) was there as well and she turned to him and said "Oh Michael- aint she cute?"
Paula- if you're reading- I love you and you changed my life and I can do a spot on impression of you.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

CHRISTMAS!!! Mmmhmm I said it- I'm feeling all deck the halls, winter wonderland, jingle belly...etc....
I'm a huge Christmas fan! It's in my blood- growing up my mom had 8 full size themed Christmas trees. I was right there cheering her on as we switched all of our dinnerware over to Christmas as well. Apple Cider, Eggnog, Crackling fires, Twinkly lights, these are a few of my favorite things!

Although I must admit Christmas in retail land is a little different, I get a wee bit sick of pricing all those ornaments! I then get over it and start humming carols.

I can't wait to see you all this holiday season. I have a lot of exciting things in store for you along with some hot spiced cider! If you're lucky I'll tell you the story of my dad going to the emergency room on Christmas night or the one where my brother threw a croissant at the wall, or one involving an onion and a toilet paper roll.
Ahhh the holidays...

Pumpkin Bread Pudding

It's snowing...cold....windy...blah....ehhhh

How about some Pumpkin Bread Pudding?

Here's what you need:

1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup canned solid-pack pumpkin
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs plus 1 yolk
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp allspice
5 cups cubed (1 inch) day old baguette
3/4 stick melted butter

Preheat oven to 350 F
Whisk together cream, pumpkin, milk, sugar, eggs, yolk, salt and spices in a bowl
Toss bread cubes with melted butter in another bowl, then add pumpkin mixture and toss to coat. Transfer to an ungreased 8 inch baking dish and until custard is set, 25-30 minutes.

You may be asking yourself - "Why no picture" Well I'll tell you why. That dear husband of mine is not a fan of anything custard or pudding like. So I didn't think it would be too appropriate for me to make an entire batch of this for myself but I couldn't resist sharing it with you!

I personally would drizzle a little rum caramel sauce over the top- but I'm a wicked girl!

I know I've said this before but I love Heritage Hill. Not only because I was married there- but because is is such a clean and sophisticated color palette you can almost anything in there and it looks stunning!

Stone Harbor Resort Reception

Fun centerpieces of stock, dahlias, seeded eucalyptus, feather picks and jeweled accents.

The arbor at Stone Harbor Resort in Door County was decorated with "dripping" roses heads, dendrobium orchids and glass crystals. The sky looked a little threatening there but no worries it cleared up and was a gorgeous early autumn day!

Creamy shades of hydrangeas, roses, dahlias, and dendrobium orchids make up this bridal bouquet collared with ostrich feather.

These rich jewel toned bouquets were made up of stock, roses, dahlias and dendrobium orchids and collared with dark red feathers.
