Floral Nightmares

I'm sure you all think ooo being a florist would be so nice and relaxing. You get to play with flowers all day and then go home put your feet up and let all your troubles float away.

Well.... for the most part you're right. Sometimes though you wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat because you're not sure if the Bride's bouquet was wrapped in white or ivory or if the grooms boutonniere was made, etc...

And then there is last night, eye cream on, nails buffed, lavender oil on cuticles, deep breathing and reading a good book. Ahhhh the perfect night I drift off to sleep only to dream about throwing up Oasis floral foam... What ?!?!? No where in the dream did I ingest Oasis...just threw it up.

If that's not bad enough I woke up literally nauseous.

A) I want you to know I really debated sharing this with you.
B) I also really debated how to reference throwing up (puking, hurling, spewing or honking (as my dear husband refers to it).

Sweet Dreams!

  1. I hear you! And it's not just the bad flower shop dreams, there's the reality too!

I have this painful wound in my backside that I somehow got a week ago while delivering and setting up multiple weddings. I don't know how I got it, it's killing me, and it won't heal!

And last night, I watched my feet swell after I finally got home and sat down after a 10 hour day doing a wedding in 99% humidity with my AC on the fritz.

One more wedding to go, can't imagine what's going to hurt next!

  2. It's nice to hear I'm not the only one who physically injures themselves on set-up and then doesn't know how it happened. By Monday I have bruises all over my legs and arms and I never remember where and when I got them! When you've got a Saturday set-up schedule to keep you don't have time to think about it!

  3. Aw Sprout!
We feel for you! Although I must say our weather here has been mighty pleasant and dare I say autumny lately! ;)
